Dr. Zachary Austin Martik, a dedicated and patient centered dentist, hails from the close-knit community of Elizabeth, Pennsylvania. With a passion for healthcare and a commitment to hands-on service, Dr. Martik is excited to established himself as a notable figure in the field of dentistry.
Dr. Martik's journey into dentistry began with a strong academic foundation. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology, with a minor in Chemistry, from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. His time at UNC was marked by rigorous coursework and an enthusiasm for the sciences, laying the groundwork for his future career.
He continued his education at the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine (Pitt SDM), where he honed his skills and deepened his knowledge of dental care. His tenure at Pitt SDM was characterized by a commitment to excellence and a desire to make a meaningful impact on his patients' lives.
Dr. Martik is actively involved with the Pennsylvania Academy of General Dentistry. His membership in this esteemed organization reflects his dedication to staying current with the latest advancements in dental care and his commitment to ongoing professional development. He is a proud member of Peak, a progressive dental-focused group that emphasizes continuing education, collaboration, and clinical excellence. As a certified Invisalign provider, Dr. Martik enjoys helping patients transform thier smiles through comfortable, dscreet orthodontic treatment. Outside of his professional life, he leads a vibrant and active lifestyle. He is an avid runner and recently completed his first Pittsburgh marathon, showcasing his dedication and perseverance. In addition to running, he enjoys lifting weights, golfing, fishing, and hunting, all activities that reflect his love for the outdoors and physical fitness.
Sports have always been a significant part of life. He played soccer in high school and continued to participate in intramural soccer during his college years. His enthusiasm for sports extends to watching them as well, making him a well-rounded and engaged individual.
Recently, he celebrated a personal milestone by marrying his childhood love, Lindsey. The couple shares a deep bond and look forward to building a life together filled with love and mutual support.
Interest in healthcare and dentistry was cultivated from a young age. Growing up in a STEM-focused environment, he always had a desire to serve others directly. His father's work as a general contractor instilled in him an appreciation for hands-on work. This interest in practical, impactful work led him to explore dentistry after shadowing his cousin, Adam, and spending significant time with Dr. Learn during college breaks. These experiences solidified his decision to pursue a career in dentistry.
Family and community are central. He enjoys spending quality time with family and friends, watching movies, and reading. His close relationships and community ties enrich his personal and professional life, providing a strong support system and a sense of belonging.
